We're back — and we're crossing into Manhattan

We're back — and we're crossing into Manhattan

Grab your hat and your appetite — The Big Aussie BBQ is back for 2026, and this year we're doing something we've never done before: we're crossing the water and setting up in the heart of Manhattan.

After four cracking years bringing Aussies (and honorary Aussies) together, we've watched this little backyard barbecue grow into one of the biggest Australian community gatherings in New York. So for our fifth year, we're going bigger — new location, same free, family-friendly, snag-sizzling spirit.

Four years in the making

What started as a handful of homesick Australians missing a proper barbie has become an annual tradition. Every year you've shown up — with your kids, your mates, your eskies and your terrible sunburn — and turned a public park into a little slice of home.

We can't thank you enough. This one's for you.

We're heading to Manhattan

This year the Big Aussie BBQ moves to Rockefeller Park in Battery Park City — right on the Hudson River waterfront, with the water on one side and the Manhattan skyline behind you. It's easy to reach by subway, ferry and PATH, and there's loads of green space for the kids to run wild.

Same snags. Same community. A brand-new view.
