Qantas is our presenting partner — and we're sending someone home

Some announcements you sit on for a while because you can hardly believe them yourself. This is one of those.
Qantas is on board as America Josh's major sponsor — and the presenting partner of the Big Aussie BBQ.
The Flying Kangaroo
There's no need to explain Qantas to an Australian. It's the tail you look for at the airport when you're a long way from home. It's the safety video you can recite and the song that you hum to yourself (even when you're publicly not into it.)
For a lot of us in the US, Qantas is the way home — the thing that closes a 15,000km gap and puts you in a room with your mum again.
So to have that name — that specific name — choose to back what we've built here? It's genuinely hard to put into words. America Josh started as Josh writing things down to help other Aussies find their feet. The Big Aussie BBQ started as a handful of wonderful community members missing a proper barbie. For Qantas to look at all of that and say yes, we want in is a level of trust we don't take lightly.
We're proud of it. And we're going to make it count.
We're sending someone home
Here's the part you'll want to pay attention to.
On the day, we're giving away two return Economy flights from the USA to Australia, courtesy of Qantas.
Two seats. Home. It's the single best prize we've ever had at this event, and someone standing on that lawn is going to walk away with it.
How to be in it — read this bit properly
The rules are simple, but they're strict, so please don't get caught out:
You must check in on the day. Scan in at the gate when you arrive — that's what puts you in the draw. You must agree to the terms on the day!
You must be check-in before the draw at 3pm. We'll be going through the check-in lists.
We announce the winner at 4pm. Stick around for the Official Qantas team!
We know it's tempting to duck off early once the kids have had their fill. Don't. Not this year.
Thank you, genuinely
To Qantas: thank you for backing an Australian community a long way from home. To everyone coming on Saturday, August 15: this is the biggest, best version of this day we've ever put on, and you sold it out in a week.
See you in the park. Check in, stick around, and maybe — just maybe — we'll be sending you home.
