We opened registrations for the 2026 Big Aussie BBQ on Tuesday — barely two days ago — and honestly? We're a little gobsmacked. The RSVPs started landing within minutes and they simply haven't stopped.
We won't drown you in spreadsheets, but here's the gist: this is the fastest, strongest start we've ever had. In barely two days, more of you have signed on than registered across entire previous BBQs — and there's still well over a month to go before the snags hit the grill.
So, who's coming?
A gloriously mixed crowd, which is exactly how we like it:
Pairs, everywhere. Partners, best mates, and "you're coming with me" duos are the biggest slice of the crowd so far. Grab your person.
A brilliant wave of solo legends. Loads of you are coming on your own to meet people — and the BBQ is genuinely the easiest place in New York to do exactly that. You won't be on your own for long.
Families in force. Plenty of little Aussies (and Aussies-in-training) are already on the list. Expect a proper kids' zone, backyard games, and a healthy number of small humans running on red cordial.
